Hinetūhoanga is the Māori atua wāhine of stonework, tools, and refinement. She is the guardian of craftsmanship and the sacred process of shaping raw materials into purposeful form.

In Māori tradition, Hinetūhoanga is associated with the sacred work of grinding and shaping stone, especially the making and sharpening of tools used for survival and daily life. She is often understood as the atua who gave form and purpose to stone, turning something raw and unshaped into something useful, precise, and life-sustaining.

Her presence is closely connected to the use of hoanga (grindstone), and the skill of working with stone to create tools that support whānau and community. Through this, she represents not only physical craftsmanship, but also the deeper principle that everything gains strength, clarity, and purpose through careful refinement over time.

Her story reflects the idea that creation is a sacred responsibility, that what we shape with our hands also shapes the way we live, survive, and relate to the world.

SHIPPING

All prints are made to order. Please allow 5–7 business days for production, in addition to shipping time. Orders containing multiple items may be fulfilled and shipped separately, so they may arrive at different times. Separate shipping charges will apply for each product type.

RETURNS

As each print is made to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
